Uganda’s exports to the Kenya Premier League (KPL) Daniel ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma and Ivan Anguyo have been nominated for the 2012 KPL awards following their illustrious displays with their club Gor Mahia FC.
Sserunkuma who spent the first half of the season at Nairobi City Stars before crossing to K’Ogalo in June is among the best five players nominated for the player of the award while Anguyo is a nominee for the defender of the year awards.
The duo has been brilliant for Gor helping it to the runners-up spot in the KPL. Sserunkuma has netted 17 league goals this season while Anguyo has kept things tight at the back throughout the season.
Other nominees for the player of the year award are Sserunkuma’s team mate and strike partner Ramah Salim, Oserian’s John Keo, KCB’s Paul Rafael Mungai Kiogera and AFC’s Mike Baraza.
Former Maroons FC player Anguyo will battle it out with Tusker FC duo Joseph Shikokoti and Jockins Atudo, Leopard’s Jonas Nahimana and Western Stima’s Jackson Saleh.
The awards ceremony will be held on November 21st at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.
