Top contender undefeated lightweight Sharif “Lion”Bogere,has withdrawn from his WBA world light middleweight title fight due November 24 against Cuban Richard Abril at the Citizen’s Business Bank Arena,Ontario,California. Bogere suffered a partial tear of the left Achilles tendon while in training luckily their was no ruptured in his tendon and will return to training in approxinnately four to six weeks.

The two boxing camps are in negotiations to have the fight rescheduled on a different date and month as the fight was part of a triple header that Golden Boy Promotions had lined up for HBO World Championship Boxing event. Andre Berto will take on Roberto ‘Ghost’ Guerroro in a interim WBC welterweight title.

Also rising star Keith Thurman will take Former world champion Carlos Quintana in a ten rounder. Bogere was eyeing to become the sixth Ugandan world boxing champion following in similar strides like John ‘Beast’ Mugabi, Ayub Kalule, Cornelius Boza Edwards, Kassim ‘The Dream’Ouma and Jackson ‘Action’Asiku.
