One of Uganda’s top tennis player’s Robert Buyinza, has received a shot in the arm ahead of his travel to take part in the Rwanda/ITF Futures tennis circuit that gets underway on November 24-December 8 in Kigali,Rwanda.

Received his  3 million sponsorship to participate in this ranking tournament today at a brief ceremony held at the newly refurbished Lugogo tennis complex that is being managed by Arthur Ssegawa. “I am grateful for this sponsorship and hope too do well in the week long tournament,” Buyinza said. “I am glad that our new sponsor has shown interest in helping players here at this complex and has promised to sponsor more budding players.”

Buyinza will be the only Ugandan player seeking for points at the money circuit event the other Ugandan player David Oringa pulled out after sustaining a first round injury at the Burundi/ITF Futures circuit last week.

The veteran tennis player is ranked 1,500 in the Association of Tennis Professionals rankings and is ranked number 19 in Africa. Lugogo tennis complex under their new management that has sunk 50 million into the refurbishment of the complex have promised to turn the facility around as they seek to have more and more tournaments next year.
