The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the Council for East and Central African Football Association (CECAFA) has announced that entrance for the remaining group fixtures of the Cecafa Tusker Challenge Cup will be free.

However, the Friday group A fixtures that pit Uganda against South Sudan and Kenya versus Ethiopia will be paid for though ladies will still enter for free.

The announcement was made in the aftermath of Uganda’s match versus Ethiopia on Tuesday evening.

“This is to inform all fans that the remaining group stage matches excluding Friday (Kenya Vs Ethiopia and South Sudan Vs Uganda) will be watched free”, read part of the statement.

In a joint announcement from FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa, EABL Managing Director Alasdair Musselwhite and Cecafa General Secretary Nicholas Musonye, it was further resolved that for the Cranes match day on Friday, women will watch the two games free.

The matches that will go for free include Somalia Vs Sudan (Wed, 4pm), Tanzania Vs Burundi (Wed, 6pm), Malawi Vs Eritrea (Thur, 4pm), Rwanda Vs Zanzibar (Thur, 4pm), Sudan Vs Burundi (Sat, 2pm), Somalia Vs TZ (Sat, 2pm, Lugogo), Malawi Vs Zanzibar (Sat, 4pm, Namboole) and Eritrea Vs Rwanda (Sat, 4pm, Lugogo).

This might have been due to the poor attendance exhibited since the tournament kicked off last Saturday as non of the eight matches played so far has attracted a capacity crowd.

Meanwhile, Somalia Vs Tanzania and Eritrea Vs Rwanda have been shifted from Nakivubo as earlier scheduled to Lugogo.
