Uganda’s most successful soccer club SC Villa has been invited in Rwanda as the country celebrates 25 years of the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) existence.

The Jogoos earned the invitation courtesy of Rwanda president Paul Kagame who is a staunch Villa fan to play a few matches with local clubs in remembrance of fallen heroes like Fred Rwigyema who was also a staunch SC Villa fan.

The celebrations are set for this weekend and the team is set to travel on Friday night aboard Rwanda Air to Kigali.

According to reliable sources, the team will earn $ 30,000 for participation in the friendly games plus the team will be facilitated with air tickets which by press time where yet to be received.

“We have sent the names of the players and the officials that will be travelling and we are waiting for tickets which we expect to receive Friday morning”, said a source that prefer anonymity.

SC Villa president Fred Muwema will be the leader of the delegation.
