Giants South Africa may be a non-scoring side but they have something to prove in game two of the ICC Africa Women’s T20 World Cup qualifiers when they take on team Uganda at the Annadil Burhani grounds today afternoon.
After batting the allotted over to set 115 runs for a three wicket loss, they were made to settle for level pegging against opponents Zimbabwe in the tourney opener yesterday morning due to the soggy outfield.
And the South Africans will want to taste victory. Obviously, playing a team that was at this year’s edition of the global tourney in Sri Lanka is a challenging task for coach Henry Okecho’s girls.
“It is tough but we are focused,” team Uganda skipper Naomi Kayondo said. Uganda succumbed to a poor start yesterday when they lost by eight runs to Tanzania.
