Undefeated lightweight Sharif “The Lion”Bogere will go for the vacant WBA world lightweight title on March 2 against Cuban fighter Richard Abril in Las Vegas,Nevada at a yet to be named venue. The scheduled title fight will be shown on Showtime. “I have been waiting for this moment. It is a real dream come true. I will be ready for the fight,” Bogere told Boxingscene.com. The Ugandan prize fighter will be eyeing to become the sixth Ugandan world champion over the year’s the country has produced the finest fighters on the continent and around the world. Bogere’s nickname is “The Lion”. He wears a lion outfit and is transported inside of a cage during his ring walk. His flashy ring entrance has gained him a lot of notoriety in Las Vegas where he lives and trains. He said that this is the fight he needs to make him a star and that he has something extra planned for his ring walk. According to the Las Vegas based hot shot he will continue his glamorous entry in the ring dressed in his popular lion costume, which has earned him a big number of fans and also has earned him his nick name. “We are going to bring the lion costume and the cage but we are going to spice it up with a new twist. Make sure you check out the fight,” Bogere revealed. Bogere goes into this fight with a record of 23 wins and 15 KOs while his foe Abril is 17 wins 3 loses 1 draw and 8 KOs.
