OMAN CRICKET LEAGUE DIVISION A
Arabian 180/10 Passage to India 181/2
Club owner KK Mohandas hugged Arthur Kyobe in total delight after the Ugandan led Passage to India to an eight wicket win over Arabian CC in the Oman Cricket League Division A tie at the Ministry Oval 1 on Friday.
The left hand batsman, on a semi-professional stint stroked 45 runs off 75 balls as his side chased down a 180-run score for a two wicket loss.
“I am happy I lifted my team today,” he told Kawowo Sports on phone from the capital Muscat.
“I have always prayed and worked hard to impress each day,” he added.
Early this month, Kyobe notched 104 off 126 balls as his team set 280 for 9 in 50 overs but unfortunately lost the thriller by two wickets and only four balls to spare against Al Turuki Cricket Club.
This time round, his magic on the willow lifted his side to fourth position with 14 points from seven outings. His fellow country mate Asadu Seiga had taken two vital catches in the first innings.
With only seven fixtures left to finish the 50-over season, Kyobe hopes he can put more inspirational performances before returning to join the national side for international engagements early next year.
“My focus is on scoring runs and keeping the form.”
Passage to India’s next match is due Thursday against Times of Oman at the Ministry Oval 1.
