Kenyan giants Gor Mahia FC have confirmed the signing of Ugandan defender Israel Emuge from Kiira Young FC.

According to club secretary George Bwana, the former Express FC and KCC FC centre back has penned a two year deal with the FKF Cup champions that will see him serve them till 2015.

“It’s true we have signed him as we boost the side ahead of the Kenyan Premier League and continental engagements”, he said.

Emuge was missing as Kiira Young won Water FC 2-0 in a Fufa Super League game played on Wednesday at Lugogo with reports that he is on his way to Nairobi to finalise everything.

Emuge is a talented central defender who reads the game well, his aerial ability is fantastic and can tackle well. He was a pillar in defence as KCC FC won the super league in 2008.

The financial details of the deal remain undisclosed though

He joins fellow countrymen Daniel ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma and Ivan Anguyo at the club and a host of Ugandans who ply their trade in the Kenya Premier League (KPL).

Gor Mahia finished second last season in the KPL just a point behind champions Tusker FC.
