Finally the grievances that had emanated out of the Netball federation may come to an end this year after the NCS in conjunction with the interim committee set up elections which shall be conducted on the 26th January 2013.
After these elections every body who likes the game of Netball has higher hopes of seeing the game progressing with out the hiccups that had surrounded the sport the previous year.
The minimum requirement as announced for the contestants include one having an A-level certificate and cash payments of 500,000shs for the top positions of the Federation.
Rosette Kaala and Suzan Ongom have declared their interest in contesting for the chairperson’s seat in the federation’s forthcoming election.
Kaala, who has ever served as General-Secretary for the past 10 years, says she has proved herself capable of managing the sport of netball in Uganda. Kaala is the team manager for Posta Netball Club and is a former player with the national netball team, the She Cranes and for Suzan she was the president of the Netball Federation that was dissolved.
But close sources have it that Madam Kaala has issues with the International Federation of Netball Association which may hindered her participation with in the general elections.
