Ugandan born footballer, Ibra Ssekajja completed his loaning move from English championship team, Crystal Palace football club to League 2 club Barnet Football club. He joins Kenyan Taiwo Atieno at the club.

Ibra who made his professional debut for Crystal Palace in 2011, has played for Bromley fc, Milton Keynes Dons and Barnet fc where he is for a-one month loan and the 20 year old forward will don 41 as his jersey number.

Talking to Barnetfc.com, the striker highlighted Edger David’s Vision for Barnet fc as the determining factor behind his (Ibra) decision to join the Bees (Barnet fc). The former 38 year Dutch international, Edger Davids also plays for Barnet fc.

Ssekajja tells that, “Edgar being here was a big thing for me when making my decision, when I spoke to him he outlined his vision for the club and for me as a player I can see myself fitting into his plans”. Ssekajja highlighted the cause of his signing for the Bees.

“I spent a lot of time with him at Palace so it is great to link up with him again, we know each other well and were very close so hopefully that can benefit both of us and the club”.

The Ugandan representative has ever featured in the Barcklays Under-21 Development League but believes that playing in League Two will make him a better player as he continues to forge his footballing career. “I have played a few games in the Under-21 league this season but coming here (Barnet fc) into a first-team environment is a completely different challenge.

“If I can learn as much from Edgar as I did at Crystal Palace then I will become a better player who can hopefully help Barnet progress up the league table”. Ibra added.

Ssekajja at 18 years helped his then team, Crystal Palace, with a late equalizer against Hull City to ensure the Eagles Championship status with his first touch in professional football. The equalizing goal sent Crystal Palace fans into jubilations and saw him (Ibra) celebrating with a triple backflip.

“It was a dream and words really cannot do it justice because it is something that you never think will happen, it just blew me away. “Football is my passion and it is something I love to do, hopefully I will get the opportunity to do that here because I love being out there playing”.

Barnet football club now lies 20th with 29 points collected in 28 played games of the 24 teamed League two log lead by Port Vale who has 52 points from 27 games. 24 teams (Clubs) play in this league.
