Chess players will start their season with a chess clinic that, gets underway tomorrow upto Sunday at Hotel African that is being organised by Uganda Chess Federation.
The federation opted to start off the year with an activity aimed at spreading chess to the masses by teaching children and adults on the basic tenets of the game to ensure that more people learn and embrace the game. This is one of Uganda Chess Federation’s major objectives in 2013.
Children who have never played the game will be introduced to the game; those who have a faint idea will be taken through drills while mini side Rapid tournaments will also be held to entertain participants.
It is expected to be massive chess festival that will be helpful for beginners amateurs and player as the event will be spiced with powerful interactive and useful power point presentations on the game, its benefits and how to improve.
