Azam FC (Tanzania) 3-1 Al Nasri (South Sudan)
Brian Umony’s Azam FC earned victory in the first leg of the preliminary CAF Confederations Cup after beating South Sudan’s Al Nasir FC 3-1 in a game played on Saturday afternoon at the Benjamin Mkapa national stadium.
The Mapidunzi champions had Cote d’voire import Kipre Tche Tche and Abdi Kassim to thank after the duo struck to hand the ice cream makers advantage going into the second leg. The former scored a brace while the latter added the third.
The former KCC FC striker started the game in a three man attack alongside Abdi Kassim and Kipre Tche Tche. Stuart Hall’s side will now travel to Juba for the second leg in a fortnight searching just for a draw to progress to the first round.
