St. Michel (Seychelles) 1-4 Tusker FC (Kenya)
Ugandan striker Andrew Ssekayombya came off the bench to score for Tusker as the Kenya Premier League Champions thrashed hosts St. Michel of Seychelles 4-1 in the first leg of the preliminary round of the 2013 Orange Caf Champions League.
Kenya international David Ochieng opened the scoring for the Brewers to cancel out an early goal from the hosts and ensure that the first half ended 1-1.
After recess, Coach Robert Matano made changes as he brought on Ssekayombya and Micheal Olunga who both netted. Olunga scored the second while former KCC FC striker who joined Tusker in January extended the lead with a third goal. Man of the match David Ochieng then sealed the day with a fourth goal to complete his brace on the 85th minute mark.
Other Ugandans Martin Kizza, Aucho Khalid and Robert Omunuk also featured for Tusker. The return leg is scheduled in a fortnight in Nairobi and in case Tusker advances to the next stage, they will play Egyptian giants Al Ahly between 15th and 17th March. Last year, Tusker was eliminated by APR FC of Rwanda at the preliminary round on a 1-0 goal aggregate.
