Boxer Sharif “Lion’ Bogere, has won 12 professional fights at the capital city of gambling and boxing Las Vegas, Nevada, and on March 2 he will be seeking for his 13th when he goes for the vacant World Boxing Association World lightweight title against Richard Abril at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
This is the second time that the fight has received a new venue having earlier been set for the Apollo Theater, in New York incidently Las Vegas is the home of the US based Ugandan prize fighter and he has built a reputable fighting career in the crazy boxing city that never goes to sleep.
The fight was moved after the featherweight title bout between Daniel Ponce De Leon and Jayson Velez was called off due to an injury to Velez.
Bogere goes into this world title fight with an impressive record of (23-0, 15 KOs) while his opponent Abril is (17-3, 8 KOs).
A win for the Ugandan fighter will make him the sixth world champion from this country others are John “The Beast” Mugabi, Ayub Kalule, Cornelius Boza Edwards,Kassim “The Dream” Ouma and Jackson “Action” Asiku.
