Beach woodball circuit (Lido Beach, Entebbe)

The first National Beach Woodball circuit for the year 2013 is scheduled to take place this Sunday at the Entebbe Lido Beach Resort. Over 200 participants from 15 different teams are expected to grace the circuit.

Uganda Woodball Federation Administrator, John Baptist Kateregga, who is also the Association’s Treasurer says this is first of the three beach circiuts this year in which he urges participants to take it serious for future tournaments ahead.

“This is a preparatory tournament for the Hong Kong Open Woodball Championship due in April 2013. I encourage all the participants to give in their all”, John Baptist appeals.

Institutional teams such as Hana Mixed School, Ndejje University, Nkumba University, IUIU Female Campus, UCU, Makerere University,MUBS, Kyambogo University and Mutesa Royal University have already comfirmed participation. While clubs like Entebbe, Bweyogerere, Botladz, Ndejje, Stoke shall also be taking part. Bank of Uganda is leading the way for the cooprate organisations.

“The best competitor over the three circuits with the most accumulated points will be recognised at the UWbF Awards Gala by the close of the Year”, stresses John Baptist.

Experienced woodball players like the 2012 USPA and UWbF Woodballer of the year, Lillian Zawedde, Jerry Wabuyu,Apio Betty,Onesmas Atamba,Ssenyonga Alex, Senkumba Tonny are expected to put up gallant displays.

This event is organized by UWbF – Technical Commission and sponsored by Lido Beach – Entebbe. The next event on the calendar is the Kyambogo University Open
championship scheduled for 4th March 2013.
