Top seed David Oringa will take on seed two Duncan Mugabe in a mouthwatering finale at the Best of the Best tennis tournament at the Center Court Sports Club, Lugogo on Saturday.
Oringa booked his position in the final with a 6-3,6-3,3-0(Ret) win over a sickly Robert Buyinza on center court. “I am disappointed that this game didn’t come to an end,” a disturbed Oringa lamented. “I wish Buyinza had played the entire game without throwing in the towel.”
It will be the first time that the two youngsters come face to face in a major final early in the year. Mugabe was a 6-1,6-3,7-5 winner over Henry Muyanja, who upset the defending champion Moses Otiti in the quarter-finals on Wednesday to register the biggest upset in the tournament.
“I am looking forward to the final I know it won’t be easy for me and David,” Mugabe said. “It will be my first major event in the year and I hopefully would want to win it.”
The tournament is sponsored by Center Court Sports Club that is run by Arthur Segawa, who has sunk close to 10 million shillings in this tennis season opener.
