Long serving swimming coach and official Peter Mugisha, was elevated from general secretary to vice president administration in the recent Uganda Swimming Federation general assembly that was held at Sheraton Hotel.
Mugisha, who has been one of the longest serving coaches and officials of the swimming was elevated from general secretary to vice president administration replacing the outgoing Yusuf Nsibambi.
“It’s a honour to me on the new post and hope to work and make swimming better,” Mugisha said. “We shall work together too make the sport stronger while seeking to look for future stars.”
Don Rukare, was returned as president unopposed while Abel Ddamulira, was elected as vice president technical. Moses Mwase, who was previously the treasurer of the association was handed the post of general secretary.
The Uganda Swimming Federation also increased affliation fees for members from 50,000 to 100,000 while national coaches will have to part 100,000 from the usual 50,000.
Other members of the new executive are assistant general secretary Ibrahim Mapetla, the treasurer is Irene Mudanye while she will be assisted by Fauzia Karmali.
The committee members are Lillian Mugisha,William Buyondo,Samuel Kalule,Isaac Rwenzo and Enid Katorobo.
