Plus one golfer Abbey Bagalana, has had a torrid time on the 18 hole course in Kigali, while trying to claim the prestigious Rwanda Open that gets underway from March 2-23,but this year he wants to end his jinx on the unpredictable course.
“It’s a very unpredictable 18 hole course that I would like to beat this time around,” Bagalana said. “It has many par 4’s and is spread with lots of hazards which makes it had to beat if you don’t have the right equipment.”
Last year the ace golfer finished third in the competition on count back and has been putting alot of practice and toning down on his game at the par 72 Kitante golf course.
“I am trying to keep my scores lower to my handicap and what does that mean I should be playing under my handicap,” Bagalana stressed. “My biggest obstacle in trying to win the tournament is my lack of golfing equipment in my bag.”
The national golfer uses a Nike Driver which has given his game problems on the course. He also lacks clubs and is seeking 3 wood to match up with the task he set to face.
Bagalana, needs $730 to take part in this competition. He is seeking for sponsorship from various golf well wishers and corporate companies.
The other Ugandan golfer taking part is Willy Deus Kitata from Entebbe.
