2012 Uganda Tennis Open winner David Oringa, is set for a mouthwatering clash with his court nemesis Duncan Mugabe from March 16-23 at Kampala club when the Castle Lite Uganda Tennis Open swings into action.
The two youngsters are expected to meet again once again this year in the final, as the tournament received a boost from the sponsors Nile Breweries under their brand Castle Lite who have sunk 40 million Uganda Shillings for the week long tournament.
The two youngsters met in a the Best of the Best tennis tournament last month with Duncan Mugabe overcoming David Oringa in three sets to one.
Other sponsors that joined partnership with Uganda Lawn Tennis Association include Housing Finance Bank, that is making its debut in tennis on the local scene and where going to follow the tournament.
It’s the third time that Nile Breweries have sponsored the event that has attracted Rwanda’s Jean Claude Gasigwa,Mubarak Harerimana,Eric Ntawuhigana,Damasceni Munyaneza from Rwanda other players expected for the event will come from Kenya,Tanzania,Zambia and Burundi.
The winners in both the Men’s and Ladies will walkaway with a trophy and cash prizes of 2.5 million and 2 million respectively. The organisers have also included a Men’s and Ladies Veterans event.
The total prize money for the tournament is 20.5 million.
