Fifty million worth of prizes will be up for grabs this Saturday at the Uganda Golf Club’s Hima Cement sponsored 11th edition of the 2013 Captain’s Prize at the par 72 Kitante golf course.
The leading cement company announced its sponsorship this morning at the Uganda Golf Club house. “We are pleased to be associated with the Captain’s Prize and especially pleased that we are involved for the eleventh year running,” Ken Lubega the Hima Cement Domestic Sales manager said at the launch.”Hima Cement takes great pride in belonging and contributing to the country’s sports fraternity and we are looking forward to the success of this event.”
This year’s event is expected to attract over 200 golfers including professionals who will for the first time be taking part after the sponsors offered 4 million shillings that will see them play on Friday and Saturday.
The tournament is an annual event that is organised by the out-going captain of the Uganda Golf Club, this year Charles Katarikawe, has just earned a second term and will start it with a bang by hosting a splendid event that will conclude this Saturday with a glamorous prize giving ceremony.
The mode of play for the one day tournament is Medal and will see Ladies and Men golfers battling for prizes in three categories A,B and C their will also be side prizes like nearest to the pin,longest drive and guest winner.
