Doctor Alex Coutinho beat over 200 golfers to claim the Hima Captain’s Prize golf tournament at the par 72 Kitante golf course at the Uganda Golf Club on a water Saturday in Kitante.
Coutinho carded a score of 70 nett to claim the overall prize that was being sponsored by the cement producing company that attracted several corporate golfers. Jimmy Alemiga kept his rich vain of form by claiming men’s group A with a score of 72 nett.
Kenyan Omondi Makolo was group B winner with a score of 73. This is was the eleventh time that Hima Cement was cementing its partnership with the the Uganda Golf Club event that was organised by the outgoing captain.
Karanja Karubui Junior has made it a fond habit of scooping trophy ware at the par 72 Uganda Golf Club this time he walked away with group C with 71 nett on count back.
Gerald Kabuye was the gross winner with 76. In-form UPDF lady golfer Evelyn Asiimwe was group A winner with 69 while group B was taken by Annette Kiconco with 71 nett on count back. The gross award went to Jenina Nasimolo with 82.
Deo Akope, was the professional golfers winner with a score of 68 gross.
