Center Court Tennis Club manager Arthur Ssegawa, has this morning sent a petition to National Council of Sports seeking to find out why Uganda Lawn Tennis Association is still in office.
Ssegawa, presented his petition to the National Council of Sports general secretary Jasper Aligawesa at Lugogo infront of a group of disgruntled tennis players from various clubs. “I together eight clubs are handing you this petition saying that the ULTA executive is in office illegally,” Ssegawa stated will handing in the signed document. “ULTA is being run unconstitionally and they have over stayed in power for long.”
Uganda Lawn Tennis Association is to hold a general assembly on April 20 at Kampala club. Aligawesa queried while receiving the petition “Who are you and what has brought you to my office,” he asked. “Are you all registered members of the association and have you signed on this petition if you haven’t then this petition is useless.”
The National Council of Sports will go through the petition and then decide. Uganda Lawn Tennis Association is led by Cedric Babu, and he is seeking to complete is second term when the tennis ruling governing body goes to the polls.
