Uganda’s contingent of Flavia Namakula, the Uganda Ladies Golf Union president Jasper Kamukama Eva Magala and Entebbe’s Irene Nakalembe have stepped up their training ahead of the Sanlam South Africa Amateur Strokeplay championship due on April 14-16 in Pretoria Country Club,Gauteng North.
“The team has stepped up its training personally and we are looking forward to taking part in the championship,” Kamukama said on the phone. “It gives the team good preparations ahead of the All Africa challenge in Zambia and other major events on our local golf calendar.”
The team comprises of top lady golfer Flavia Namakula,who has been training in Abuja,Nigeria for the last two weeks the other member of the group is Magala, the former Uganda Ladies Captain and Entebbe’s top lady golfer Irene Nakalembe.
The South African tournament attracts the best amateur lady golfers from the hosts,Zimbabwe,Zambia,Namibia,Nigeria,Uganda,Tanzania,Kenya,Swaziland,Botswana,Mozambique.
