Ronald Mugula (Uganda) Bt Mészáros János Elek (Romania)
Ronald Mugula proved why is the world’s Super Welter Weight Kick boxing Champion with yet another scintillating display as he floored Romanian Janos Elek after just 3 rounds of the scheduled 10 round full contact bout played at Kyadondo Rugby grounds in Kampala.
Just like during the pre match weigh-in press conference, a towering Mugula made his round 3 knock out vows count as it indeed lived to pass.
“I told you to mark my word, am a man of action and few words. When i said round 3, i meant it…”, bragged the Ugandan World Champion, who is trained by Thilo Schneider and Nubia Sports Gym in Wiesbaden, Germany.
Janos was defiant in defeat as he rubbished claims from some sections of the media that he is one opponent who had just been hand picked from the streets of Romania to fight a world champion.
“I have lost, but will bounce back soon. The fight was a short notice but am always training and preparing. I am ever ready”, said Janos.
At a fully packed Kyadondo sports Arena, the numerous exciting fight under cards, the humorous nature of the day’s M.C’S, the breathe taking performances from artists, many spectators felt they got their money’s worth.
Mugula’s record now stands at 60 fights, 44 wins, 10 losses, 6 draws and this was his 24th Knock Out victory. The Romanian was thus condemned to 66 fights, 45 wins, 9 losses, 12 draws and 10 KO’s.
For the yet another time, a kick boxing fight in Uganda was supervised by the World Kick Boxing Executive Director, Fritz Exenberger.
This fight, which was screened live on UBC T.V, was sponsored by Shoprite, Mount Zion Hotel, Rwenzori Mineral Water, UBC T.V, CR sports center, among others.
