Defending champions Tornado finished the preliminary round of the National Twenty20 League unbeaten.

They amassed maximum points (40) from eight Group A games and they were the only side to do it.

But Frank Nsubuga was quick to site out that it was yet satisfactory despite the impressive displays.

“We did well but we want to avoid the complacency,” he told Kawowo Sports after their last game, a two-wicket win over Tornado B at Kyambogo oval a month ago.

They carry the same momentum and mental strength against Kutchi Tigers in their quarterfinal clash at Lugogo oval on Sunday afternoon.

“The trophy must return to our cabinet hence we shall put up a good show,” he said.

Tigers finished fourth in Group B having scored the highest number of runs across both groups in the first round – 1155 runs.

In another interesting quarterfinal, Jonathan Ssebanja leads a youthful Charity Trust Fund side against Tornado B in a much anticipated morning thriller at the university oval in Kyambogo.

“Our target is their main batsman Roger Mukasa. We want to get him out early and start counting our chances,” Ssebanja said.

Mukasa is the leading batsman with a total 386 runs including 59 fours and four sixes.

“Charity is the youngest side in this contest but we shall bank on our blend of older and experienced players to out muscle them,” Nicholas Kebba, usually Mukasa’s opening partner said.
