Ndejje University vs APR (Rwanda)- Tues, 4 p.m

Uganda’s representatives at the African Women Club Championships in Anatanarivo in Madagascar were missed out on the golden opportunity of becoming the first Ugandan club to reach the semifinals of Africa’s most prestigious volleyball club championships as they were beaten by three straight sets.

Facing Algerian Opposition, G.S Petrolliers, who had beaten Kenya’s Prisons 3-2 was never going to be an easy task for the Ugandan champions.

In fact, by the start of the first set, the writing was on the wall for the Ugandan side, that had problems with receiving the strong and tricky balls from the Algerians.

Ndejje lost all the three sets by 13-25, 15-25 and 20-25 in an hour’s battle that now relegates them to a classification encounter with Rwanda’s APR, who lost to Egyptian side, Ahly 3 straight in the quaters.
