Thrilling action of this year’s National Twenty20 League will finally reach its pinnacle on Sunday afternoon at Lugogo Oval.
But while it gets closer to its wrap up, the ambition to finish best bowler has grown bigger for Tornado’s Deusdedit Muhumuza.
His team plays sister side Tornado B in one of the semifinals, a much anticipated clash at the university oval in Kyambogo on Sunday morning. The winner travels to Lugogo for the final against the winner between Wanderers and Challengers.
“I can finish best,” he told Kawowo Sports after picking figures of 2/10 in Tornado’s 82-run quarterfinal victory over Kutchi Tigers at Lugogo last Sunday.
“I need to just tighten my bowling and hopefully help the team retain the trophy as well.” the former Wanderers’ player added.
Muhumuza has so far totaled 15 wickets, three maidens with an economy of 97 runs from 30 overs.
Though he lies fourth on the chart, six wickets adrift leader Kutchi Tigers’ Ratilal Kerai, he is top among the bowlers who sides are still in action.
He is followed by teammates Richard Okia and Raymond Otim with 14 wickets apiece, on level with Tornado B’s John Mpande.
