Barely a week after being voted in office, the Uganda Rowing Association new Executive led by President, Hamza Kahwa has commenced work that the body had long neglected.
The executive held their first meeting a day after the elections and this coming Saturday, the Association will launch its second Rowing training center at Country Lake Resort Garuga.
“Our top priority is to wake up the sleeping clubs and make them active, we also hope to open up other countryside training centers in order to boost the game across the entire country”, says the Association publicist, Rodrick Muhumuza, who also confirmed the Executive held its first meeting a day after the elections.
Top National Council of Sports and Uganda Olympic Committee officials are expected to be some of the guests invited to witness the grand opening of Garuga Rowing trainning center.
The Garuga center will act to supplement on the available Miami Beach in Luzira and give the rowers more time to practice ahead of local and international events.
