Airtel has renewed its sponsorship partnership with Federation of Uganda Basketball Association to sponsor the 2013 Division One National Basketball League.

The announcement was made this morning at Oasis restaurant at Lugogo by the Zonal business manager of the mobile phone company Ali Balunwa and the FUBA boss Ambrose Tashobya together with NCS chairman John Bosco Onyik.

 “It’s a revolving contract that will be renewed every season with the package increased every year however we can’t disclose how much it is in total,” Balunwa said. “It will be used for dressing up the teams, paying FUBA fees and course activations at the games throughout the entire league.”

Airtel will pay 60 million shillings for the entire season to all the first division teams that is the men’s and women’s league as FUBA seeks for sponsorship for the lower divisions.

The sponsorship gives Airtel exclusive naming rights to the National Basketball League, going into their second year of partnership.
