“It is a great privilege and honor to have a home for the federation. You now longer are a brief case association,” Blick, who was flanked by the Rowing President, Hamuza Kahwa and the Garuga Resort manager, Solomon Muwonge said. Blick urged the executive to spread the game to other parts of the country.
The development comes just a week after the National Rowing Executive was voted into office and puts an end to the seemingly endless conflicts between the different factions in this water sport.
The president Kahwa, was overwhelmed by the kind gesture of Muwonge, who offered the center to be the base for Rowing in Uganda.” We are now down to real work, past are the days of quarrels, Rowing will grow to greater heights and i promise in 4 months, we shall host the East and Central Africa Championships”, Kahwa vowed.
The Lake Country Resort has a modern gym, Olympic size swimming pool and rowing equipment that all the registered member clubs will use free of charge.
