UPDF 32 Prisons 34 (Ladies)

It was another battle of the forces in the ladies’ category as Prison Lady Spears had to employ all the tactics to beat the hard fighting UPDF ladies team. In what looked like a seesaw game that had both teams leading on several occasions with the Army side taking the first half of the game leading by one point; 15 – 14.

The trend of the game however continued for most of the second half until UPDF got punished due to rough defensive plays. This then gave Prison an advantage given that UPDF was less by one player and hence a win for Prison by 2 points reducing the point gap to just 1 and 2 games less from second placed UPDF.

In the other ladies game of the day, Police Lady Metro beat Ever Green 26 – 19 and maintained their 100% winning streak. The win puts them in 4th position with just a point adrift of joint table leaders Nkumba University.

In the men’s category, it was loss number 4 for Ever Green this season and this has almost ended their dreams of winning this year’s championship. This result has placed them in an unusual 6th position out of the 7 teams given that it was one of the 4 contenders of this year’s championship. This win has pushed Police Metro; seem to have got their rhythm back by winning their second game in raw, to 3rd position. Semujju Frank and Aziz Yakoob top scored for Police with 10 and 9 goals respectively while Ephrahim Bukenya and Jimmy Orotin top scored for Ever Green with 7 and 6 goals respectively.

In the other men’s game of the day, 2011 champions, Prison Spears run over Police Kifaru beating them comfortably 42 – 29. In what seemed like a one sided game had Gilbert Ojok top score for Prisons with 13 goals and Anthony Issamat added 7 while Ismael Kisalita top scored for Kifaru with 7 goals.
