Uganda’s representatives at this year’s Cecafa Kagame Cup Express FC will open up their tournament account against defending champions Young Africans of Tanzania.
This was announced at the competition’s draw held in Khartoum, Sudan ahead of the June 18 kick off.
Besides Yanga, Express FC will face Burundi’s Vital O and AS Port of Djibouti in group C.
Group A has Rwanda’s champions APR, Tanzania’s Simba SC and Sudan’s Merrick El Fasher while group B has Kenya Premier League Champions Tusker FC, Super Falcon (Zanzibar), Al Nasri (South Sudan), Hilal Kadougli and Ahli Shandi (Sudan).
The two top placed teams from group A and C will qualify for the quarterfinals while group B which has five teams will produce three quarterfinalists. These will be joined by the best loser.
The two weeks tournament is to be held in l Fasher and Kadugli in South Gordofan, , Sudan between June 18 and July 2.
GROUP A:
Merrickh El Fasher (Sudan), Simba (TZ), Al Mann (Somalia) and APR (Rwanda).
GROUP B:
Hilal Kadougli (Sudan), Ahli Shandi (Sudan), Al Nasr (S.Sudan), Tusker (Kenya) and Super Falcon (Zanzibar).
GROUP C:
Yanga (Tanzania), Express FC (Uganda), Vital O (Burundi) and AS Port (Djibouti)
