Many have already tipped Nemostars to defend the national volleyball league title with ease. The side is unbeaten in 21 regular seasons games and looks like no one is ready to put up a challenge.
The side is on top of the 10 team log tied on nine points with Nkumba Navy, though Nemostars’ point ratio (1.396) is better compared to that of Nkumba which is 1.150. “Those are fruits of our hard work,” said Louis ‘Doctor’ Mubangizi after the triumph against newly promoted KAVC Cubs 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-12).
Nemostars have won all three of the opening games defeating Ndejje University in three straight sets, 25-21, 25-15, 29-27. “We take it one game at a time,” Mubangizi added. “It’s not a bible that we will stay unbeaten forever, if it happens we will deal with it.”
The side had last tasted defeat in the playoffs in November last year’s losing to Nkumba 3-0 before having a roll coaster of 30 games without defeat. This was brought to an end by Sky in the Kampala International Volleyball Open Tournament.
