That said, Uganda tussles with West Africans Benin in Thursday’s semifinals, whilst another West African entity in Senegal shall take on Morocco in the other semifinal duel.

A delighted Uganda head coach Hassan Zzungu hailed the entire team for executing the plan well.

“We are so happy to have made it to the knockout round. One of the objectives was to qualify as the group leader, which we achieved. Now, we have to plan for the semi-final opponent as the target is to win the tournament,” Zzungu, who was also with the team in Ghana last year, remarked.

The girl’s semifinalists are Zambia, Burkina Faso, Morocco and the defending champions Ghana.

The semi-finalists will use Wednesday, 8th April 2026, as a recovery day, plotting for the long-awaited semifinals on the subsequent day.

Meanwhile, the teams that failed the group stage hurdle will battle in the classification contests to decide positions 5 to 8 for either gender.
