Early this week, Uganda Netball Federation listed a 23 woman squad to participate in the International Netball Federation/African Netball Ranking Tournament to be hosted in Malawi this year.

This tournament will commence on June 9th and a total of 9 countries will take part. Uganda will face the likes of Tanzania, Malawi, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Ghana, Lesotho and Madagascar.

To acquire 4th position in the World Rankings, Uganda must win at least four games as well as earn top place at the tournament. Currently, South Africa, Malawi, Tanzania, Botswana and Namibia are the only African Countries ranked in the world.

Unfortunately, the National Team has not yet secured sponsorship though thorough training is going on at Nakivubo Stadium. “We are doing all what it takes to secure sponsorship for the team to travel for the tournament,” Annet Kisomose, the General Secretary, UNF confidently said.
