Irene Nakalembe, will be looking to make a perfect debut for Uganda’s Ladies team when she takes part in the All Africa Challenge at in Lusaka, Zambia from June 3-9 at the Lusaka Golf Club.
“I am looking forward to my maiden debut and I have been training hard with the team and hope to return with the team with the trophy,” Nakalembe said as the team received a send off at the Uganda Golf Club this morning. “I have played at the course before so I have a rough idea of what it will be like am just looking forward to play with some of the best teams in this region.”
Team Uganda will be led by the Uganda Ladies Golf Union president Jasper Kamukama, others will be the Uganda’s top lady golfer Flavia Namakula and former lady captain Eva Magala. Monica Ntege, will be accompanying the side as she is this region’s trustee.
The six day tournament has attracted nine countries from the East and Central Africa, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, DR Congo, Seychelles and Zambia the host. Tanzania are the defending champions it will be the third time that Uganda is taking part in this international all ladies tournament. Eight ladies, who will be supporting team Uganda will also take part in the Zambia Ladies Open Amateur Stroke-Play Championship that tees off from June 7-9 at the same club.
