Despite losing 3-0 to Libya in his first game, new Cranes coach Mulitin Sredojevic admits that there are a lot of positives to pick from the game.
The Cranes lost to the Mediterranean Knights on Saturday evening at the Tripoli Sports Complex thanks to three first half goals from Muhammad Ali Ganudi, Abubaker Fabid and Faisal al Badr.
Nevertheless, the former Rwanda tactician who replaced sacked Bobby Williamson last week sounded positive. “First of all, we were missing many important players in the team but there are a lot of positives to pick from the game”.
“This game has shown us which players to count on for the Liberian game but it was so high a stage for many players”.
“The game has given us answers to the question on which players are in contention for a starting berth against Liberia and Angola since they are competitive games”.
Micho also blamed two of three goals his side conceded to officiating mistakes but admitted the hosts were more experienced than his side.
“If you look at the goals we conceded, one was offside and it was never a penalty for the third goal in my opinion but we played a highly experienced side”, he added.
It should be noted the game was either the first or second for many a player that featured on the day. William Luwagga Kizito, Herman Wasswa, Alex Kakuba and Israel Emuge made their debuts while Savio Kabugo and Daniel Sserunkuma were only making their second appearance.
