Prison Lady Spears 42 – 11 Ever Green (Women)

Police Metro 38 – 26 Police Kifaru (Men)

Prison Spears 39 – 37 Ever Green (Men)

Lillian Ajio’s rained in 17 goals for Prisons Lady Spears against underdogs, Evergreen to help the defending champions register yet another routine victory and put them on the league summit on 6 points.

The Prison spears team was dominant throughout the duration of the game played at Kyambogo University play grounds. Alice Nakafero and Silvia Nanyonga added 7 and 5 goals respectively in the white wash of the inexperienced Evergreen side.

Evergreen, who were missing most of their players due to the holidays of university students relied on the services of their experienced guards in Alice Atukwase and Jacinta Nassanga who scored three goals apiece to give the scoreline a respectable appearance.

In the first men’s game of the day, Police Metro continued with their impressive run beating Police Kifaru 38 – 26. The inform Metro pushed up to 3rd position with 6 points while Kifaru stayed 5th on the log with just 2 points from the 5 games played so far. Semujju Frank led the demolition with 13 goals while Asuman Numba and Aziz each added 6 goals. Kisalita Isma and Kangala Imran top scored for Kifaru with 8 and 4 goals respectively.

In the last action of the day, it was a nail biting game as Ever Green took on Prison Spears. The game started well with Ever Green doing all the attacking and defensive moves right that kept Prison thinking what they had to do to break through. Tension went all the way to the last whistle and only 2 mistakes cost Ever Green hence losing by 2 points.

This win for Prison pushed them to second position displacing Ndejje University on goal difference but like the University side, they have 6 points from the 3 games so far played and just 2 points below defending champions and table leaders UPDF by just 2 points and with a game in hand. This loss has further dented Ever Green’s hopes of the National championship and now have even a higher hill to climb. Kongo Ibrahim and Akena Dominic went in double figures with 12 and 11 goals respectively while Anthony Issamat added 5. Semuwemba Patrick top scored for Ever Green with 8 goals while Sabaidu Ismail and Jimmy Orotin added 6 each.
