One of the things Uganda is yet to do in this seemingly bogey Fifa Africa World Cup Qualifier campaign is keeping a clean sheet.

With three games done, Uganda conceded first in all at Luanda, against the Lions of Teranga in Namboole before bowing out with a 2-0 defeat to Liberia in Paynesville three months ago.

And as they head into Saturday’s return leg against Liberia in a look-to-be Cranes’ campaign turn around, first choice goal keeper Dennis Onyango is ruled out due to suspension.

That forces Abel Dhaira to fill in the gap in front of the wood work for the Cranes. But he will have to silence the doubting Thomases just a week after swallowing three in a one-sided friendly match away in Libya.

“There were few things that went bad (in Libya),” Dhaira told Kawowo Sports earlier this week.

“But i have been working hard in the past few days. I am confident Saturday will turn out to be a good day for me at work,” he added.

He will be first choice with Ali Kimera likely to deputise him after Hamza Muwonge was dropped by Serbian tactician Milutin Sredojevic.

While in camp, Dhaira, Muwonge and Kimera were all backed up by Onyango’s presence all under the tutelage of goal keeping coach Fred Kajjoba.

Onyango is likely to return against Angola next weekend.
