Joseph “Owakabi” Lubega, wants to take his Egyptian opponent Hany “Hurricane” Atiyo to school when the two lock horns as the Ugandan fighter makes his first defense of his WBC International light heavyweight title fight at Kyadondo rugby ground tomorrow in the Rwenzori Boxing Gala.
“This moment has arrived and its mine. I want to take this Egyptian to school come tomorrow,” a highly charged Lubega said at the weigh in at Mount Zion Hotel this morning. “I want to murder this guy am a murderer and he should be ready for his death.”
It will be the second time that Lubega meets his Egyptian opponent having knocked him out in 2012 while contesting for the ABU light heavyweight title.
“He Lubega is trush talking too much and I wanna teach her a lesson too come tomorrow,” Atiyo said. “I would rather let my punches do the talking in the ring than here.”
The two fighters also threw punches after the weigh in and where halted by the supervisor of the fight Celestino Mindra.
On the same card will be a WBC lightweight Muay Thai kickboxing contest against Thailand based Umar “The Pain” Semata against Australian Rhys Karakyriacos.
Sande “Swicco” Kizito, will take on Egypt’s Mohammed Ates in a 10 round bantamweight non-title fight on the same card.
Rwenzori Water has sunk 70 million into that fight that is being promoted by Lash Media.
The event organisers are Events warehouse other sponsors for the title fight include UBC Television, who will give a live feed for the fight others include Mount Zion Hotel, Chui, Ennyanda newspaper,smsempire, OMU Designs.
