Eastern Uganda will this weekend host the prestigious qualifiers for the 2013 Nile Special National Open Pool Championships. Action will roll off on Friday at Crystal gardens (Soroti), Sports Club (Mbale), Espana (Malaba) before moving to Capital Pub (Busia), Vene Resort (Tororo), Shivans (Iganga), Texas Club (Kamuli), and MayFair (Jinja) on Saturday.

32 participants are expected from each venue from which two qualify for the finals slated on 31st August 2013 at Lugogo indoor stadium. Each of the participant has to be 18 years and above owing to the rules of sponsors, Nile Breweries Limited, who fund the entire event under the brand of Nile Special.

Each of the regional winners is guaranteed 100,000/= as a cash prize and a PAU- UBL branded Winners’ medal while the runners up smiles home with 50,000/=. Each participant at every playing center gets a certificate.

Only the top 8 seeded players: Alfred Gumikiriza, Amos Ndyagumanawe, Sula Matovu, Yves Kaneza, Salongo Asuman Bukenya, Charlse Segawa, Ronnie Kalungi and Adam Sebbi are exempted from the national qualifiers.

The overall winner from the 128 players at the grand finale in Kampala will pocket 2 millions, a brand new pool table,  and a toyota progress car (fully insured for a year).

Next weekend focus comes back to Kampala with qualifers in Rubaga Division at Nateete (Shopping Center), Wakaliga (Jakaranda) on 21st June and Kabuusu (MM Pub) and Password Pub (Nakulabye) on 22nd June.
