Al Hilal Kadougli Vs URA FC – 3pm
Former Uganda Champions URA FC will this afternoon face Sudan’s Al Hilal Kadougli in the 2013 Kagame Cup opening game in Darfur.
The tax collectors are at the event courtesy of a special invite from the organizer of the tournament following the withdrawal of Tanzania giants Yanga and Simba plus Kenya’s Tusker FC citing security fears.
The team left for Sudan on Saturday 15 aboard Kenya Airways and is grouped in pool C alongside two home nations Al Hilal Kadougli and Ahli Shandi and must finish in the top two to reach the quarter finals.
Meanwhile, URA FC assistant Coach Ibrahim Kirya believes the team will do well after receiving a warm reception from.
“The reception we have had in Kadougli has been marvelous and we all know from past experience that CECAFA tournaments are good. We were invited to play, so we are going to give a good performance up to the final game, and take the trophy back home.
Al-Hilal Kadougli are playing at home, but we are going to fight hard beat them”, Ibrahim Kirya told CECAFA media.
The tourney kicks off despite security concerns in Sudan which has forced the key Kenyan and Tanzanian clubs to pull out of the tourney.
