Lillian Zawedde, Uganda’s Seed one Woodball player is facing a torrid chase for $ 3500 to enable her compete in two international meets in Malaysia and Singapore slated for later in August this year.

“I appeal to the National Council of Sports, the Government, embassies, organizations and individuals to help me raise $3500 so that i do not miss out on the international rating of players”, Zawedde, the reigning Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) award winner as the best wood ball player in 2012.

The 3rd year Ndejje University Journalism student has participated in several international wood ball tournaments in Hong Kong and Malaysia.
She participated in the 6th Hong kong International tourney in March 2013 where she scooped a bronze medal at the Shan fairway, situated at the Wu Kai Sha Village Ma. Zawedde, also currently leads the 2013 ladies single national beach circuits having won the January opener at Lido beach before becoming second to Shamusa Nantege in the April meet held at Sports Beach, Entebbe.
Besides the obvious advantage that International woodball tournaments come further with in the name of  exposure, they are seeding meets upon which players are rated as they accumulate points from each meet.
The money will cater for the visa and upkeep fees.
