Following a successful round of Eastern Uganda Nile Special Open Pool Championships last weekend, action now shifts back to Kampala, this time in Rubaga Division.
Action at Rubaga follows games at four different playing regions of Makindye, Northern, Central and Eastern region.

The Eastern Uganda qualifiers saw 5 ladies qualify for August 31st main finale at Lugogo indoor stadium, whose winner will smile home with a brand new insured Toyota Progress Car, 2M and a pool table.

Already, 44 players out of the expected 128 players have so far made the cut. 5 ladies including the current national seed one and Kampala Open Ladies’ Category Champion Carol Kanzira, who defeated John Wanyama 4-3 in Tororo are in the running in a sport that has been over the years been dominated by men.Other remarkable ladies are Vivian Kagoya (Nebbi Winner), Rebecca Mirembe (Winner in Kamuli ), Aisha Kayanga (Runner Up Iganga) and Michelle Kyomugisha (Malaba runners up).Willing participants just have to buy 2 Bottles of Nile Special Beers and partcipate.The Winner at each Centre wins 100,000 cash , a branded Nile Special and PAU Medal and a Certificate.
Each playing center winner earns a medal, UGX100, 000 and a shoot at the overall winner’s prizes that include a jacket, a car, two pool tables, UGX2M and an opportunity of being the Nile Special Pool brand ambassador for a year.
Two players will qualify for the grand final from each of the 60 playing centers. These will be joined by the eight seeded players bringing the total number of participants at the grand finale to 128. Approximately 2500 players are expected to take part in the nationwide tournament.
The qualifiers resume next weekend in the midwest region with Masindi at Travellers’ Pub (28th June), Hoima at Spot (28th June), Fort portal at Forest Bar (29th June) and in Kasese at Lesiure Bar (29th June).
