South Africa 66 Zambia 48.

The Uganda National Netball team, She Cranes finally succumbed to African Champions, Malawi 46-55 at the Blantyre Youth center during a Friday morning fixture played before a capacity cheering crowd.

The Ugandans who finished second in pool B, behind South Africa, the continent’s number two, struggled against the finest ladies, who are technically gifted and were cheered on by a lively home crowd.

“We played our part and those are God’s plans”, revealed, Nelson Bogere, one of the She Cranes’ coaching personnel.

In the other semi final, South Africa beat Zambia 66-44 to book a remarkable date with the hosts, who were cheering the rivals, Zambia.

Team Uganda returns Saturday evening and are expected to reach Uganda by Tuesday morning following a 1800 KM road trek from Blantyre to Kampala. ” Some of the girls are worried of the route back, but we need not to worry, we shall reach home successfully,” said Joyclne Uchanda, the She Cranes team manager.

The Malawi -South African game was being played by the time of writing this report.
