Women: KCCA V KAVC – 6PM
Men: KAVC V Nemostars – 8PM
Venue: MTN Arena Lugogo
Fee: Ush 3000

National Volleyball Serie A defending champions Nemostars and KAVC find themselves in similar situations ahead of their encounter today at the MTN Arena in Lugogo.
Both sides are unbeaten in the league this season, though Nemostars defeated KAVC in February during the Makerere Open final, the former did the same at the Nkumba Open final last month.

After six games Nemostars is on top of the 10 team log with 18 points having dropped only one set while KAVC lie third with 14. KAVC have lost a point to Ndejje. KAVC’s on-form power attacker Joel Endra believes the game is one that will bring the best out of the two teams. “We’ve been improving in every match since the season started,” Endra said. “We had a good performance against them (Nemostars) in Nkumba, but we know that we need to be focused ahead of the game,” he added.

Nemostars have an efficient serve and their attacks have never been doubted but they will need much more that to maintain their unbeaten run. “Our net defence and cover are wanting and we have been working on them,” said Nemostars’ Christopher Ajena. “But we plan to use our strong points to come out on top on Saturday (today),” he added.

KCCA start life without Pajije and Nalinya:

KCCA start life today without senior players Sharon Pajije and Faridah Nalinya as they date KAVC. The duo is serving a suspension until the start of the second round.
KAVC will hope to bounce back from their 3-1 humiliation at the expense of Nkumba University last weekend.

“We are so over the Nkumba defeat, and all focus this week has been directed on how to get back to winning ways,” KAVC’s Irene Adeke said. Both teams have lost once, KCCA lie fourth with 17 points while KAVC who have palyed a game less are sixth with 14 points.
