U-18: KJT (Uganda) 3-1 Orgryte IS (Sweden)

Kampala Junior Team (KJT) has started strongly in the on-going Under 16 and 18 Gothia Cup tournaments in Sweden. The U-16 and U-18 teams were 1-2 and 1-3 victors over Sweden’s Orgryte in the some of the tourney’s opening matches.

134 teams from 26 countries play in the boy’s under 18 category where were divided into 33 different groups and the Kampala team is pooled in group 2 alongside Orgryte IS, Malarhoidens IK and ACBB Paris 1 from France.

There are 1600 teams (including 230 local teams) participating in this tournament from the entire world.
Kampala Junior Team also participated in Boys 18 during Gothia Cup 2012. They reached the 1/16 Final in B18 Slutspel A, but lost it against KF Feronikeli with 0-1.In the early 2000’s, the famous Kampala Kids League teams (KKL) participated and won many honours in this same tournament.

The Finals shall be played on the 19th and 20th July at Gothia Arena in Heden.

The annual tournament, dubbed the Youth world cup is organised by SKF and exclusively sponsored by Nike, Turkish Airlines, Liseberg, Inter-sport, Visa-sat Fotboll, GP, telenor, BMW, GB Glance, De Boer, Gloria Olympic Arena, Sixt Car Rentals,Folksam, koppaberg, floor it, t-tripnet and vastra Gottalandsregionen.
