Uganda has entered a youthful swimming side for the 15th FINA World Championship(Long Course) that is underway in Barcelona, Spain.

Uganda’s team will be led by UK based Jamila Lunkuse, 16 who will be swimming in the women’s 100 meters Breast Stroke and 100 meters freestyle others on the team include Joshua Ekirikubinza, 16 who will be swimming in the men’s 50 meter freestyle and 50 meter breastroke, the youngest swimmer on the side will be Arnold Kisulo, who is 15 years old and will be making his debut at the World Championship, he will be swimming in the men’s 50 meter Backstroke and Freestyle.

The World Championship starts from July 19-August 4 in Barcelona,Spain

The team will be coached by Muzafaru Muwanguzi, while the head of delegation will be Don Rukare, the Uganda Swimming Federation president while Peter Mugisha, the vice president technical goes us a FINA judge.

“It feels great to be making my debut at the world swimming championships for the first time,” Kisulo said. “I am happy to be back in the swimming pool and hope to improve on my time and gain experience.”

The Uganda Swimming Federation has opted for youthful swimmers in a bid to develop a strong team for the future, but at the same time hope that the swimmers hit the marks to enable them participate at the World Youth Games in Nanjing, China next year and also the Commonwealth games in Glasgow, Scotland.
