US based squash professional Ibrahim Nyanzi, is set for a marathon of events on the Professional Squash Association World Tour starting with next month.
The dredlocked squash ace will start his quest for ranking points when he takes part in the Charlottesville Open from September 19-22, the event is a PSA Challenger had has a price of $10,000(sh 25.5 million).
“It’s important for me to participate in these tournaments and it will increase my points on the PSA,” Nyanzi stressed. “Last year I participated in two tournaments on the circuit and this time I am going to tackle seven.”
The Ugandan player is ranked 288 on the PSA World Tour rankings. He will then take part in the Madison Open in New York from September 26-29 which has the same amount of prize money and is still a challenger event.
However the diminutive player will face a sterner test in the Indian Summer Benefiting Beyond Walls from October 4-7 in Saint Paul, Minnesota its a PSA International with $ 25,000(sh63.7 million) in prize money.
The Baltimore based player will then tackle the Delaware Investments US Open in Philadelphia, USA it has a $100,000(sh 255.1 million) prize money kitty and is a PSA World Series event that brings all the best players on the continent.
From October 22-23 he will take part in the Chicago Open Vernon Hills, Chicago, Illinois which is a PSA Challenger.
He will then wrap up his season with the Phoenix Open in Tempe, Arizona from November 12-13 which is a challenger and the Squash Championship 5th Annual Betty F Griffin Florida State Open in Boca Raton, Florida from December 3-4.
